For the first time, my wife and I attended the Remembrance Day ceremony at the National War Memorial in Ottawa. We also laid a wreath at the Hong Kong Memorial Wall on behalf of the families of Royal Canadian Corps of Signals men who fought in the battle of Hong Kong in December, 1941.
Sadly, only one member of the group of 33 signallers who went to Hong Kong is still alive: Gerry Gerrard, from Victoria. He is a fine gentleman and we couldn't ask for a better representative of our now gone very special members of our families.
